12th Nations, Nationalities and Peoples Day celebrated colourfully in London
The Embassy took part in the annual Africa on the Square, which was colourfully celebrated in London’s iconic Trafalgar Square on 14th October. Present on the occasion was Mr Ababi Demissie, Deputy Head of Mission, and staff from the Public Diplomacy and Diaspora sections.

Ethiopians contribute $460 million to Renaissance Dam
Ethiopians, both at home and abroad, have so far contributed around $460 million towards the construction of the Dam, through various schemes including bond sales, athletic events and lottery draws. Of the total, $4.9 million was from Ethiopians and foreign nationals of Ethiopian origin in the diaspora.
The Ethiopian and Eritrean community in Milton Keynes showcased their culture during the Africa Diaspora Day event, held as part of Milton Keynes' 50th anniversary celebrations.

Ethiopian Diaspora buy bonds worth over $4.9 million
During the current fiscal year, Ethiopians in the diaspora purchased bonds worth over $4.9 million to contribute towards the construction of the Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam.
Eight British nationals of Ethiopian origin including mother and son Berikti and Biruk Habtom; five-year old Isaac Paulos; and Hashim Kidir, his wife and their three children, tragically impacted by the Grenfell Tower fire.
