Power of Attorney

 

If you wish to appoint a person(s) or a representative to pursue matters on your behalf in Ethiopia, you will require a Power of Attorney.

 

Before submitting your documents to the Embassy, please ensure that you understand the contents of the document.

Submission of documents takes place on Mondays to Fridays (9:30am – 1:00pm in the Morning & 2:00pm – 4:00 pm in the afternoon).

1. Requirements

Documents required are dependent on the type of service you require:

For Ethiopian Citizens and Ethiopian-Origin ID card holders

  • Power of Attorney
  • Your Ethiopian passport or Ethiopian-origin ID card
  • For Ethiopian passport holders, evidence of your status in the United Kingdom
  • Two colour passport-sized photographs
  • The application fee
  • Any supporting documents applicable to your situation

For British and overseas passport holders

  • Power of Attorney
  • Two colour passport-sized photographs
  • The application fee
  • Any supporting documents applicable to your situation

2. Fees and Payment

The correct fee must be submitted with your documents.

Ethiopian Passport and I.D. card holders:

  • Personal Matters – £50.00
  • Business Matters – £52.00

British/Other Passports:

  • Personal Matters – £75.00
  • Business Matters – £80.00

The Consular Section only accepts credit and debit card payments for all Consular Services. Payments by American Express, cash, postal orders or banker’s draft are no longer accepted. 

Payment by cheque or any means other than those stated above, cannot be accepted.

Processing times

4. Processing times and return of documents

Documents are usually processed within less than an hour. Some, however, may take less or longer time.

At the time you submit your documents, you will be notified when your case is finished by our Consular officer.
