On 10th May, Ambassador Fesseha and his family departed the United Kingdom following the relinquishment of his appointment as Ethiopian Ambassador to the United Kingdom. Ambassador Fesseha assumed his duties in the UK in March 2019, bringing with him almost 30 years of experience.

Letter to the Editor - Ahmed Aboudou’s piece “Blood on the Nile...” with its 13 mentions of “war”, was alarmist, and contained inaccuracies. It is not the case that “war looms on the horizon”. All 10 African countries through which the Nile passes, including Egypt, know that war would be disastrous for all concerned.

Message from the Ambassador
On 23rd October 2019, H.E. Ambassador Fesseha Shawel Gebre, was invited to Buckingham Palace by Her Majesty The Queen to formally present his credentials. In a ceremony, which is steeped in tradition and royal pageantry, Ambassador Fesseha was accompanied by his wife, Mrs Asegedech Amberber, and four senior diplomats.

Ethiopian New Year Message from the Ambassador
Ambassador Fesseha is among speakers at an upcoming event at the Overseas Development Institute (ODI) entitled Financing the future of the Belt and Road in Africa. The event will take place on 20 September and will focus on China's investment in Africa and explore the future of Sino–African development relations.
