Mr. Jeremy Lefroy MP, will make his debut visit to Ethiopia as the new trade and investment envoy to Ethiopia. This will be the first visit by a newly appointed trade envoy anywhere in the world. During the current fiscal year, Ethiopia plans to earn $271 million from textile exports and create 30,000 jobs, in its effort to become the top textile manufacturing and exporting country in Africa through various industrial parks. The second Growth and Transformation Plan aims to transform Ethiopia's industrial sector by building more Industrial Parks and new Integrated Agro-Industrial Parks (IAIPs) around the country. By 2025, the contribution of the industrial sector to GDP will have increased from 15% (in 2015) to 28%, and of manufacturing from 5% (in 2015) to 18%.
