The Ministers of Foreign Affairs and Water Resources of Egypt, Ethiopia and Sudan, and their delegations met with the Secretary of the Treasury and the President of the World Bank, participating as observers in negotiations, on the filling and operation of the Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam, in Washington, D.C.

Joint statement following the meeting, in Washington, between the Ministers of Foreign Affairs and Water Resources of Egypt, Ethiopia and Sudan, and their delegations, with the US Secretary of the Treasury and the President of the World Bank, on the filling and operation of the Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam.
On 23rd October 2019, H.E. Ambassador Fesseha Shawel Gebre, was invited to Buckingham Palace by Her Majesty The Queen to formally present his credentials. In a ceremony, which is steeped in tradition and royal pageantry, Ambassador Fesseha was accompanied by his wife, Mrs Asegedech Amberber, and four senior diplomats.

The Norwegian Nobel Committee has decided to award the Nobel Peace Prize for 2019 to Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed Ali for his efforts to achieve peace and international cooperation, and in particular for his decisive initiative to resolve the border conflict with neighbouring Eritrea.

Ambassador Fesseha met with the President of the World Tourism Forum, Bulut Bağcı, following his recent trip to Ethiopia where he held meetings with various stakeholders. Briefing the Ambassador about his visit, Mr Bağcı said that the 2020 World Tourism Forum will be held in Addis Ababa.
