Ato Beyene Gebremeskel, deputy head of mission at the Ethiopian embassy in London UK, had a fruitful discussion today (February 10) with Lord Valentine Cecil, representatives of the Eastern Africa Association, and its partner Agnes Gitau.
The Eastern Africa Association, which is founded 60 years ago is the leading business organisation for corporations and investors in Eastern Africa with aim to bring together companies active in the region, helping to promote and support long term, sustainable trade and investment. On top of that, the association is drawn to be an authoritative and invaluable source of information and guide to its members.
During the discussion, Ato Beyene appreciated the representatives for their determination to collaborate with the embassy to create platform for interested UK businesses to engage in manufacturing, agriculture, finance agribusiness, telecom, and tourism in Ethiopia. It has been agreed to work together to promote investment opportunities in Ethiopia; and the association will avail its network and information to realise the promotion.
In addition to the information he expounded on infrastructure, incentive programmes, and Ethiopia’s government support for international investors investing in Ethiopia, he also updated the representatives about recent encouraging peace developments in Tigray region of Ethiopia and the restoration of public services as well as supply of humanitarian goods.
