Ethiopia’s Climate Resilient Green Economy (CRGE) strategy was highlighted at International Grain Council Conference held in London.
Ato Beyene Gebremeskel, Deputy Head of Mission at the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopian Embassy in London highlighted Ethiopia’s Climate Resilient Green Economy (CRGE) strategy and adaptation plan at International Grain Council Conference held in London.
On the occasion, Ato Beyene posted on Ethiopia’s policy and action responses to climate change mentioning the mainstreaming of climate change impact mitigation in the 10-year development plan and smallholder farmers-focused initiatives under implementation.
He noted the green legacy initiative, which enabled, inter alia, the planting of 25 billion seedlings in the first four-year and the commencement of the second round with the goal of planting 25 billion seedlings in the coming four years. He stressed the importance of support from the international community in terms of finance and investment, technology, and crisis mitigation emergency contributions to complement national efforts.
Representatives from exporters, importers’ partner institutions, and government representatives were in attendance.
