Business Visa
If you wish to travel to Ethiopia to undertake business or any work, including voluntary work, you will require a business visa.
Business visa applications can be made online. Business visas cannot be obtained on arrival at Addis Ababa Bole International Airport, unless under special circumstances which must be arranged for in advance by the Embassy or inviting organisation.
The inviting organisation or sponsor must submit a formal application letter to the Main Department of Immigration and Nationality Affairs office in Addis Ababa, with details of the applicant’s purpose of visit, passport details, duration of stay, etc.
Once your application has been approved by the Main Department of Immigration and Nationality Affairs office, you may proceed with the following steps.

When should I apply for a visa?
As visas are valid from the date of issue, we recommend that you apply for a visa nearer towards the time of arrival. Business visa applicants are required to obtain approval from the Main Department of Immigration and Nationality Affairs prior to applying for a visa at the Embassy. Please allow at least 21 days.
