Online (e-Visa)

From 1 June 2018, all international visitors to Ethiopia can apply for their tourist visas (e-Visa) online.

The e-Visa is processed and issued online by the Main Department of Immigration and Nationality Affairs, where applicants can securely apply and pay for their entry visa.

Please be advised that the official visa website for ALL online visa applications, managed and operated by the Main Department for Immigration and Nationality Affairs, can only be found at www.evisa.gov.et

Any other websites purporting to offer online visa services to Ethiopia are fraudulent. The Government of Ethiopia will not be liable for any payments made nor for any inconvenience caused to applicants submitting their applications via these websites

Eligibility and How to Apply

e-Visas are available to all international visitors to Ethiopia.

The e-Visa is processed and issued online by the Main Department of Immigration and Nationality Affairs, where applicants apply, pay and secure their entry visa.

Once the online application is approved, applicants will receive an email authorizing them to travel to Ethiopia and they will get their passport stamped with the visa upon arrival in Addis Ababa.

Only single-entry tourist visas can be issued online. For multiple entry visas, please apply at the Embassy

e-Visas are administered by the Main Department of Immigration and Nationality Affairs in Ethiopia, not the Embassy. You may check e-Visa status online at www.evisa.gov.et. Once e-Visa is approved, an approval letter is sent directly to your email address
