The Embassy of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia (FDRE) in London participated in a climate finance briefing organized by the African Group of Ambassadors.

Held ahead of the 31st United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP31), scheduled to begin in Tรผrkiye on November 9, 2026, the briefing provided representatives of African countries with an overview of British International Investmentโ€™s (BII) climate finance priorities.

During the discussion, Deputy Head of Mission His Excellency Ambassador Lalisa Berhanu urged BII to strengthen its ongoing operations in Ethiopia and increase its provision of climate finance to developing countries. He also called on similar institutions to continue supporting countriesโ€™ efforts to mitigate climate change and adapt to its impacts.

Ambassador Lalisa further reaffirmed Ethiopiaโ€™s commitment to working with its partners to ensure the success of the 32nd United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP32), which the country is scheduled to host in 2027.

Corbetti Geothermal PLC and its drilling contractor, Marriott Drilling, officially executed project contract agreements during a signing ceremony hosted at the Embassy of Ethiopia. Representatives from Corbetti Geothermal, project developer Taranis Operations, financial partner PIDG (Private Infrastructure Development Group) / InfraCo Africa, and drilling contractor Marriott Drilling convened during the signing ceremony.
