Ethiopian Origin ID Cards
If you are a foreign national of Ethiopian origin, you may apply for an Ethiopian-origin ID card.
All new applications must be made in person at the Embassy by appointment only on Mondays and Fridays. You will be required to provide fingerprints.
Please note that without a prior appointment, the consular team will be unable to deal with your case and you will be asked to book an appointment for a future date. To avoid disappointment, schedule an appointment by contacting us on 0207 838 3877.
Until further notice, all applications to renew Ethiopian origin ID cards must strictly be submitted by post.
If you wish to add children (under 18) to your ID card, you must submit two copies of a legal document showing your relations, i.e. legalised Birth certificate.
Ethiopian Origin ID cards are valid for five years.
