Further to the announcements of the new Council of Ministers and State Ministers earlier in the week, the Office of the Ethiopian Prime Minister, HE Meles Zenawi, has announced the appointment of seven new Federal Government officials, each of whom will hold the position of Minister.

Newayekiristos Gebrab has been appointed Economic Advisor to the Prime Minister while Abay Tsehaye has been appointed Public Organisation and Participation Advisor to the Prime Minister.

Former Minister of Information, Bereket Simon has been appointed as Public Relations Advisor to the Prime Minister and Dr Fasil Nahom has been appointed as Special Advisor to the Prime Minister.

Mulugeta Alemseged has been appointed National Security Affairs Advisor, while Birhanu Adelo has been appointed Minister of Cabinet Affairs.

Finally, Professor Mesfin Abebe has been appointed as advisor to the Deputy Prime Minister.
