Prime Minister Meles Zenawi has written to the Ethiopian Herald in response to the European Union Election Observation Mission (EU-EOM) preliminary statement on the election appeals process, election reruns and the Somali region elections, which was issued last week.   

The letter was originally published in three parts (on the 27^th, 30^th and 31^st August) and it is the first time that the Prime Minister has responded to an issue in a personal capacity.
