Human Evolution Time Line Exhibition’ opens

 

"Human Evolution Time Line Exhibition" opens in Addis Ababa at the national museum. The exhibition showcases the world’s famous hominids remains that first walked our planet, Minister of Culture and Tourism Mohamud Dirir said.

“The event ... renders additional grace to the final stage of the celebration of the new Ethiopian millennium," said Ambassador Mohamud.

Ethiopian millennium celebration secretariat director, Seyoum Bereded on the occasion said the western media had been bashing Ethiopia by concentrating "on her seamy and not so positive profile for far too long".

He said the views of western media were by and large inaccurate, unfair and tendentious.

The secretariat was determined to seize every conceivable opportunity available during the Ethiopian millennium celebration to show case Ethiopia’s attractions especially those that have not been sufficiently promoted.

He said “We have been slow in realizing the irreplaceable role our heritage can play by way of improving Ethiopia’s image. “

On this regard, the 'Human Evolution Time Line Exhibition’ will have a role in enhancing Ethiopia’s image, and in increasing the flow of tourists to the country.

Japanese ambassador to Ethiopia Kinichi Konamo for his part assured Japan’s support to the conservation of Ethiopia’s hominid remains which he described as world heritages.
