The following Press
Statement was released yesterday by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Addis
Ababa.
Press Statement
Ethiopia took
part in a meeting in London on 10th March 2006
convened by the Eritrea-Ethiopia Boundary
Commission (EEBC). Ethiopia took part in the meeting
with the conviction that it was consistent with
its Five Point Peace Proposal of November 2004, which
was welcomed by the International community, including by the
United Nations Security Council. We are convinced
that Ethiopia's peace proposal is the most realistic road map for peace
between Ethiopia and Eritrea and the sole approach for success, both with
respect to the successful demarcation of the boundary and for normalisation
of relations between the two countries.
Ethiopia will continue to take part in future meetings convened by the EEBC
in this same spirit, and in good faith, as long as these meetings are
consistent with Ethiopia's Five Point Peace Proposal
