BA launches e-ticketing in Ethiopia

British Airways has made booking tickets and flying between Addis Ababa and London easier by introducing electronic tickets or e-tickets.

Yeshimebet Tilahun, Airport Manager for British Airways franchise partner, BMED, in Addis Ababa said:

“E-tickets are secure, hassle-free and offer a whole host of advantages.  Instead of customers receiving a paper ticket, their details are emailed and are stored on our computer systems so can be accessed by staff whenever they are needed.  As all the information is stored electronically, customers no longer need to worry about misplacing tickets or having them stolen because they can go into their booking online and print as many booking receipts as the want.

“If any changes need to be made customers can make them easily through the internet, and customers do not need a ‘replacement’ ticket following any changes they make to bookings.”

British Airways’ franchise partner, BMED, operate five flights between Addis Ababa and London.  The  schedule enables customers to connect through the British Airways’ hub at London Heathrow to 157 routes in 77 countries including same day arrivals to key European and North American cities, and over 605 destinations in 135 countries with the airline’s oneworld alliance partners.
