Habeshaview – bringing Ethiopian film to London theatres
On 19th October, the sold-out international premier of Leza Award-winning Ethiopian movie, Enchained (Quragnaye), was held at Rich Mix Cinema in London in the presence of the film’s director, Dr Moges Tafesse and leading actor Zerihun Mulatu.
Enchained is a new Ethiopian historical and fictional film that explores the traditional justice system and its effects.
The screening was followed by a Q+A with the Dr and Zerihun, with Behailu Shiferaw as moderator.
Additional screenings of the film also took place on 20th and 23rd October. The film now goes on tour this December to the USA (Washington and New York) before making its debut on the habeshaview streaming platform via the app (android/iPhone) in January 2020. Ahead of the international premiere, the production team also met with Ambassador Fesseha at the Embassy.

In discussions, the Ambassador congratulated them for their achievements and encouraged them to continue promoting Ethiopia’s diverse history and culture through this medium.
